Terms of use

Last updated: 2026-10-22

This is a draft and is not yet in effect. Items marked [CONFIRM] are still being finalized.

1. Your agreement with us

Petcy is provided by Jeonghyeon Yu, trading as picko (픽코), a sole proprietor in the Republic of Korea. “We”, “us” and “our” mean this operator.

Contact: picko.corp@gmail.com.

Business address: Room 101 (High Class), 39-19, Gyeongchung-daero 2092beon-gil, Bubal-eup, Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea.

Korean address: 경기도 이천시 부발읍 경충대로2092번길 39-19, 101호(하이클래스).

These terms govern your use of Petcy. We will make them available before you create an account and ask you to accept them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle information. Accepting these terms does not replace any separate consent required for location processing or another use of personal information.

You must be at least 13 years old, and at least the age at which you can consent to data processing on your own where you live (up to 16 in some EEA countries), to use Petcy. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we will delete it.

2. What Petcy provides

Petcy helps you record daily care for dogs and cats, set goals and reminders, track walks, review records and coordinate care with family members. The initial release is free, without advertising, subscriptions or in-app purchases. Any future paid feature would require separate pricing information and your agreement before a charge.

Petcy provides recordkeeping tools. It does not provide veterinary diagnosis, treatment, dosing instructions or emergency monitoring. You choose the care goals and medication entries. Follow your veterinarian’s advice and contact a veterinarian when your pet needs care.

Reminders depend on device settings, permissions and operating-system behavior. GPS measurements can be incomplete or inaccurate. Confirm important care with the person responsible and do not rely on a reminder, goal count or route as proof that care occurred or that a person or pet is safe.

3. Accounts and access

You sign in with Apple or Google. Use an account you are entitled to use and keep it secure. Apple and Google logins are separate unless the service expressly offers a way to link them. Tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.

You are responsible for your own use of Petcy. You are not automatically responsible for activity resulting from our failure to protect the service or for another person’s conduct merely because they belong to your family.

You need a compatible device, an internet connection for online functions, and permissions for features that use location, photos or notifications. Your network provider may charge for connectivity.

4. Family records and location

Family members share access to the family’s pets, care history and saved walks, including route information and notes. Members can record, edit and delete shared information within the app’s controls. Petcy does not assign separate owner and viewer roles.

Invite only people you intend to give this access to, and keep invitation links private. If you join a family from a family where you are the only member, your existing pets and records move into the new family. If other people remain in the family you leave, its records stay there.

Sharing an active walk is controlled separately from access to saved walks. Turning off sharing during a walk does not make its saved route private from your family. Explain this to anyone whose movements you record. Do not use Petcy to stalk, secretly monitor or harass another person.

When you leave or delete your account, pets and records you contributed remain with the family if other members remain. You lose access to that family’s records. If you are the last member and delete your account, the family data is deleted as described in the privacy policy. These sharing rules do not waive a person’s rights to request deletion or other remedies under applicable privacy law.

Petcy does not determine ownership of a pet or resolve disputes over its custody. Family access in the app does not establish legal ownership.

5. Your content and permitted use

You retain any rights you have in your photos, notes and other content. You give us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, copy, process and display that content only as necessary to operate Petcy and provide the sharing you request. This license lasts only as long as needed for those purposes, including lawful retention explained in the privacy policy. It does not authorize us to use private photos or routes in advertising.

Only upload content you have the right to use and share. Do not upload unlawful content, impersonate someone, infringe another person’s rights, attempt to access another family’s data, interfere with the service, or bypass access controls. Laws that protect permitted security research, interoperability or other non-waivable uses still apply.

We own or license Petcy’s software, design and branding. Subject to these terms, you may use the app for your personal pet care and household coordination. Open-source components remain subject to their own licenses, available through the app’s license information.

6. External services and app stores

Apple or Google sign-in, Google Maps and other external services have their own applicable terms. The privacy policy explains the services involved in handling your information. Those providers are responsible for their own services; we remain responsible for our own legal obligations when using them.

If you downloaded Petcy from the App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your license to use the app. Apple is not responsible for Petcy or its support. Contact us with any question or claim about the app.

7. Ending use and account deletion

You may stop using Petcy at any time. You can delete your account in the app’s settings or contact us if you cannot access the app. Uninstalling or signing out does not delete your server account. The privacy policy explains shared-record retention, deletion and any remaining copies.

We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address a material breach of these terms, unlawful activity or a security threat. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and give you a chance to correct the problem. Urgent security or legal action may require immediate restriction. Contact us to challenge an access decision.

If we discontinue the service, we will give reasonable advance notice where practical and provide an appropriate opportunity to obtain your information, subject to legal requirements. Losing access does not extinguish your privacy rights or any legal remedy.

8. Service responsibilities and liability

We will provide the service with the care required by applicable law. We cannot promise that every device, network or location measurement will work without interruption or error. Keep another record of care information you cannot afford to lose.

To the extent permitted by law, Petcy is provided without warranties beyond those expressly given in these terms or required by law. We are not responsible for losses to the extent they are caused solely by events outside our reasonable control or your unlawful use of the service. These provisions do not excuse a failure to meet our own legal duties.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Mandatory warranties, digital-service rights and privacy rights remain in effect. The fact that the initial release is free does not remove rights that the law gives you.

9. Changes

We may change Petcy or these terms to address changes in functionality, security or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes and their effective date in advance where required. We will request renewed agreement when the law requires it. Changes do not retroactively remove rights or claims you already have. You may stop using the service and request account deletion if you do not accept a change.

10. Disputes and applicable law

Contact picko.corp@gmail.com so we can try to resolve a concern. This does not require you to delay a legal claim or contact with a regulator.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, except that this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections under the laws that otherwise apply to you, including consumer protections in your place of habitual residence. You may bring a claim in any court available to you under applicable law. These terms do not require mandatory arbitration, waive class proceedings, or require consumers to bring all disputes exclusively in Korea.

For consumers in Canada, the EEA or the UK, applicable local consumer rights prevail over conflicting provisions. For Quebec consumers, mandatory Quebec law and applicable French-language rights remain unaffected. Nothing here waives a statutory right of withdrawal, cancellation, conformity or another remedy where it applies.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A translation does not reduce rights granted by mandatory local law. Where a local-language version is required, we will provide it before asking users in that market to accept these terms.
